in the box, not on your computerReviewed by Carin Smith, 2009-07-30
Yes, the images are all in the box, which comes with 6 DVDs-- you
install #1 and you are 'done.' Then as you search for images you
have to insert one of the discs, depending on which one carries the
selected image. So it is less hassle than downloading individually
from the 'net, but still not as quick as 'drag and drop' would
suggest. More like search, insert disc, drag and drop.
Also the install info is minimal at best (the above you have to
figure out as you go), and when you go for tech support it isn't
there -- I bought this brand new July '09, it's a 2008 product, and
on the web site at the very same time it says the following
"Technical support for the product you have selected is now
provided exclusively at [...] Telephone and E-mail support are no
longer available.
As a software product ages, we shift all technical support for that
product to the self-help tools on our Web site. This shift allows
us to keep pace with changing technologies and requests by
customers for new products and program features."
You are on your own with this product!
Click Art 950,000Reviewed by Alene Smalley, 2008-10-07
Just what I was looking for, have much to choose from now when I do posters and scheduled event updates
A useful purchaseReviewed by Andy, 2008-08-08
I've been using ClickArt for a few weeks now and it's pretty good.
I used it's previous incarnation of The Big Box of Art which was
good, this now has a nicer looking search screen and retains it's
excellent search facility. I'm not convinced that there are many
more decent images than in the BBA 350,000, but it's enough for
what I want (making teaching materials and soon to be making a
website). I am finding though that half of my images I'm now
pulling off the internet via a Google Image search. My main gripe
is that having a few DVDs instead of lots of CDs is great, but it
can take quite a while to bring up the image you want extract (so I
may try loading the DVDs onto my hard drive).
In summary useful to me and worth the price.
ClickArt 950K v2 (2008) by EncoreReviewed by Jack Tucker, 2008-05-04
I purchased this product and I was very disappointed! In fact, I returned it. All the images are low resolution and cannot be used anywhere except on websites. They are not print quality and; therefore, cannot be used for any print media such as books, brochures, advertising projects, newspapers, magazines, etc. I think vendors who sell clipart and stock photography should be REQUIRED to list the resolution of all the images they are selling. Plus, alot of the images are repeated, just in different sizes and file types. It's not 950,000 images and they are not print quality resolution; therefore, useless to most of us.
